This project delivered an automated integration between the Safety Defect Investigation (SDI) and Confidential Business Information (CBI) portals, streamlining a complex, multi-system submission workflow for manufacturers. The solution enables users to submit required information once through the SDI portal, automatically generating corresponding records in both SDI and the CBI system, eliminating duplicate data entry and manual handoffs.
When files are uploaded to SDI, they are securely transferred to CBI along with associated metadata, including investigation details, investigator assignments, and investigation numbers. Key fields are automatically pre-populated to reduce user effort, minimize errors, and ensure data consistency across systems.As a result, the integration reduced submission time, improved data accuracy, and increased operational efficiency for internal NCC and ODI teams. From a user experience perspective, the solution lowered cognitive load, prevented common submission errors, and delivered a more intuitive, reliable workflow while meeting security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
